The course is an overview of the Bible in eight sessions, using a course produced by the Bible Society

Liverpool Diocese Life Long Learning is offering this short course to respond to the challenge in Setting God’s People Free to equip lay people for ministry. The course is an overview of the Bible in eight sessions, using a course produced by the Bible Society. A mixture of video, facilitated group discussions and weekly readings (between each session).

It would be especially useful for those who have attended a Directions course or are authorised to preach or lead worship under Releasing Ministry. It will benefit LMLs and Readers but is open to anyone as connects with the Rule of Life (under Read and Learn).

Outcomes of the course:

  • Participants will have a clear overview of the contents of the Bible and its overarching story.
  • Participants will have developed skills in interpreting and applying the Bible to contemporary life.
  • Participants will have connected this to the Rule of Life and identified their next steps in the areas of Read and Learn.
  • Participants will have assessed the value of the course and the potential for this to be delivered in individual parishes in home groups or larger meetings
