Cathedral Heights

We are now able to offer a tour of the highest parts of the Cathedral for those who want a truly exhilarating experience. You will be taken up to the top of the 331 foot tower, partly by lift then up 108 steps, for a panoramic view of the city, the river and beyond. On a clear day you can see Blackpool Tower!

Then, you will have a fascinating tour of the 3 bell chambers that are normally inaccessible by the general public – a real insider’s view of where the bellringers ring, the damping chamber and of course the bells themselves (the highest and heaviest peal of bells in the world – and did you know that they all have a name?)

As a grand finale you will then be given the optional opportunity of being taken to the Cathedral’s famous Corona Gallery that sits 174 feet above the congregation for that ultimate high level view.
