Main Cathedral

The main Cathedral space and annexed rooms and chapel can be used to host a number of different events: church services from large worship celebrations to small prayer groups, concerts and drama, lectures and debates, prize-givings and graduation ceremonies, conferences and exhibitions, civic receptions and dinners. Of course, all of these have to operate around the timings of the Cathedral’s daily pattern of worship and music, and their nature and content must protect the integrity of the building and the Christian ethos for which it stands. For those reasons, as well as the sheer scale of the building and its endless possibilities, bringing an event here may seem a daunting task. Rest assured that our Events Team can help you every step of the way – seeing your event through from initial enquiry and quotation to planning, delivery of service on the day and payment. We can also advise on matters of security, transport and visitor parking, printing, publicity and filming.

The shop can also host such events as book launches and themed evenings, with catering in the Mezzanine Café Bar, a presentation in the theatre and related activities on the main Cathedral floor.
