Embroidery Gallery

Entrance to the Elizabeth Hoare Embroidery Gallery is included in the price of the Tower Experience. It is located in the Triforium – a large, internal Gallery at the west end of the cathedral, 80+ feet/over 20m above the cathedral floor level and accessed direct from the first stage lift in the tower. Here you can safely enjoy not only fantastic views of the interior of the cathedral itself from a great height, but also the exquisite and unique collection of Victorian and Edwardian ecclesiastical embroidery on display. For those whose passion is embroidery, both modern and traditional, the collection can also be seen as part of a special Embroidery Trail at 7 venues throughout Liverpool and the Wirral. Information on this can be obtained from local Tourist Information centres in Liverpool & the Wirral.

The Cathedral Shop sells an extensive range of Elizabeth Hoare books, cards and gifts. Purchase on line or visit us. Now available the new embroidery guide. A must, filled with stunning photography and available online.

We welcome group bookings! A group tour incorporating the Tower Experience (including the Embroidery Gallery), The Great Space Film and Audio Tour or a guided tour by one of experienced Cathedral Guides can be combined with a number of different catering packages, but booking is essential. For those with a specialist interest, we can arrange for a talk by the curator or one of her team who will show extra exhibits not currently on display.
