Group Tours

We have a great choice of group packages including  visits to all or part of our new attraction, The Great Space, catering to suit your time, taste and budget, and tailor-made options that can be put together by our group bookings specialist Jenny Moran. Free guided tours are still available, but prior booking is very much recommended.

So why The Great Space? John Betjamin famously remarked that the Cathedral as “one of the great buildings f the twentieth century”, demonstrating “the art of enclosing space”. And of course, the architect himself in designing a building of such scale implored us not to look at his arches, but “look at my spaces”.

So, a new way of visitors being offered to enjoy this great space is to view a high-definition film which includes a ‘fly-through’ the Cathedral.

 

Then continue with an audio tour (available in child and adult versions) that includes facts and stories of its people, architecture, history and faith. There are interactive stations, showcases of artefacts, and a music experience on the Nave Bridge, especially recorded by our own organist and choristers for a sound and view that will live long in the memory.
