The Cathedral is delighted to host a series of exhibitions in many media throughout the Liverpool Biennal Art celebrations this year. See below for a quick summary
1. "Towards the Empty Tomb": an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Ghislaine Howard (18th September - 30th November)
Venue: South Nave Aisle. Time:9.00am to closing
Price:Free entrance to exhibition. Car Parking is pay-on-entry Ghislaine Howard has just been named as a ‘Woman of the Year’ for her achievement as an artist and her contribution to society.
This exhibition of drawings and studies charts the development of her major painting The Empty Tomb which was created specifically for Liverpool Cathedral’s Capital of Culture celebrations.2. Commissioned Artwork - "For You" - by Tracey Emin (20 September until 30 November)
Venue:Well of the Cathedral. Time:9.00am until closing
Price:Free entry to exhibition. Parking - Pay on Entry. Internationally acclaimed artist Tracey Emin brings an especially-commissioned neon work, For You, to the Well of the Cathedral for the period of the Liverpool Biennial.3. Exhibition of Elaine Brown's paintings in the Elizabeth Hoare Gallery (20 September - 30 November 08)
Venue:Elizabeth Hoare Gallery. Time:10.00am to 4.30pm Mon- Sat (Some Sundays 11.45am - 2.30pm)
Price:Exhibition will form part of the Tower Experience - £4.25 (Concessions £3.00; Family Ticket £10) Artist Elaine Brown exhibits a series of paintings specific to the embroidery collection in the Elizabeth Hoare Gallery
4. Terry Duffy - 'RS Thomas Triptych' and Crucifix - exhibition from 29th August until 30th November 08
Venue:Main Cathedral. Time:9.00am to closing
Price:Free to exhibition - Car park pay on entry. Exhibition of the RS Thomas tryptich added to the return of the previously displayed 'Crucifixion' by Terry Duffy. For more details about the artist, these and his other works:

Homeless people, asylum seekers and tenants and staff from The Riverside Group will sit alongside figures from the worlds of arts, sport and business in a photography exhibition that looks at Liverpool through the eyes of its migrants. - Hope Street Project (17 October until end Nov 08)
