Welcome to Liverpool Cathedral's School of Theology
The school is here as a resource for you, with courses put together with one single aim: to help ordinary Christians in their ministry and service of Jesus. Whether it is getting to grips with the big picture of the Bible's story, making sense of Leviticus or the doctrine of providence, our courses aim to give you a deeper knowledge of, and closer relationship with, God.
Our courses are enjoyed by a variety of people - Sunday School teachers, pastoral workers, home group leaders and those simply wanting to explore their faith further. The School of Theology won't just help you learn more about your faith, it will equip you to serve God and love him with all of your mind.
How does it work?
Anyone with a desire to learn and understand can enrol. You don't need any prior knowledge, all we expect is you turn up and take part. You will be taught be a wide variety of reknowned speakers from both an academic and practical background. There is also the opportunity to journal your reflections on your learning.
There are two streams to choose from.

This is all about the basics. It gives participants an understanding of the Bible and a grounding in the history and working of the church. It also examines key aspects of the Christian faith. Cost £4 per session - £120 for the year (Concessions available)
Thinking Clearly
These sessions are slightly more in depth and designed to challenge and stretch participants. They cover a number of specialist areas that build on each other to help those who have been Christian for a while think clearly about the issues that matter.
