How many people can a guide show around the Cathedral?

We try to ensure that one guide only shows up to 20 people around.  If your group is larger, no problem, as long as we know in advance we can arrange for more guides to be in the Cathedral.

Do I need to book a guided tour?

No, guides are available from 10.00am each day Monday - Saturday and from 12noon on Sunday.  Booking is advised if coming as  a large party but individual/family booking is not essential.

Who do I ring to book my group into the diary?

Ring Jenny Moran on 0151 702 7284 or email her at jenny.moran@liverpoolcathedral.org.uk.

Do I have to pay for a guided tour?

We do ask for a suggested donation of £3.00 per person.  The money all goes back into the Cathedral to help with maintenance and the day-to-day running costs.

Are other kinds of tours available?

The Cathedral has a wonderful audio tour available in adult and child version and also a further six languages. We also offer a  fully BSL signed portable DVD tour for the hard of hearing and deaf community. Available from the shop.

Can I park at the Cathedral?

Yes, we do have a car park which surrounds the Cathedral and you can find all the charges on the Planning Your Visit  page of this website.

Are there accessible facilities from the car park to the Cathedral?

Yes, access to the main Cathedral floor is via a lift directly from the car park.

How many people fit into the Cathedral?

We have had 3,500 standing in the Cathedral but seated the maximum is around 2,300.

Can I get married at the Cathedral?

There are certain criteria which need to be met to be able to hold your wedding at the Cathedral.  To find out more ring Dianne Rothwell on 0151 709 6271 or email dianne.rothwell@liverpoolcathedral.org.uk

Am I allowed to take photographs inside the cathedral?
