Building on the success of our 'Teeny Maestros' early-years music programme, the 'Lil' Maestros' Ukulele course takes our young people on the next step up in their musical training.
The course is for children aged 5-8 years.
This ukulele course gives focuses on three key areas:
- teaching the child to play the instrument
- training the child in general musicianship
- allowing the child to develop a love of music
The course is fun and very much interactive. It is led by Dr Chris Newton (PhD in International Education.) The course is for complete beginners. At Liverpool Cathedral we put great emphasis on learning through performing. As such, the final week in the course will include a performance by our Lil' Maestros in the cathedral.
*Liverpool Cathedral School of Music is able to loan a soprano ukulele (and carry-bag) to each child for the duration of this first course. A refundable deposit of £20 is added to the price in this case. Please be sure to select the relevant ticket option. If your child already has a ukulele, you do not need to loan one from us.
