News

Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 2nd May 2021.

Welcome from Dean Sue

A very warm welcome to Liverpool Cathedral on this the 5th Sunday of Easter. Today our Gospel reading speaks of Jesus as the true vine and God as the vin-grower. Both vine and branch are interconnected and as disciples of Christ we too are intimately connected to God the Father through Jesus, God’s Son.

As we reflect on this interconnectedness we also remember that we are connected to one another as neighbours and fellow citizens.

This e-news is full of opportunities to connect with God and each other and I hope that you will take the opportunity this week to reflect on our interconnectedness and to dwell in the God who knows and loves you.

A new Local Missional Leader (LML) for Sepas

On Sunday, 25th April, Mr. Saro Esmaeli, a committed member of Sepas and lay member of Chapter, was commissioned by Archdeacon Mike as an LML for Sepas. In this role, his ministry will continue to develop in terms of leading worship, preaching, pastoral care, safeguarding lead, and serving on the leadership team. We are delighted to see his ministry recognised by the Diocese in this way. We will be officially ‘welcoming’ him at our 10.30am Eucharist today and affirming our commitment to Sepas, and it’s re-building after the challenges of the past year.
