Catch up on the latest news from Liverpool Cathedral for Sunday, 10th October

Welcome from Dean Sue

Welcome to our e-news as the Cathedral celebrates and gives thanks for the Harvest. Over the past week we have been reflecting on Generosity and how Generosity comes from a position of living with plenty. In this part of our world we do live in comparative plenty, but there are some people who struggle to make ends meet. So as our thanksgiving for the Harvest we are supporting Micah our Charity and Foodbank (see below).

We are also aware of the need to support local business and suppliers and we are grateful for the Wellsford Bistro’s commitment to source their food locally. Sunday Lunch now resumes in the Bistro so if you fancy a Sunday Lunch locally sourced then do please support Neil and Damien in the Bistro.

Eternal God, you crown the year with your goodness

and you give us the fruits of the earth in their season:

grant that we may use them to your glory,

for the relief of those in need

and for our own well being;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

 in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God,

now and for ever. Amen.

Thank you from Nelson

Very many thanks to all who made my leaving Liverpool a few weeks ago such a fond farewell. I’m settling back into the family home as I continue to discern my vocation and find new pastures. Much love to our Liverpool home from me and Scruffy!

Cathedral Confirmation Service – Sunday 7th November 2021

We are delighted that the Bishop of Liverpool will be joining us this November to preside at a Confirmation service. Confirmation is the occasion when we can confirm the promises made by us or for us at Baptism in a special service in which the Bishop lays hands on our heads to ask for God’s continuing blessing and anointing of the Holy Spirit. If you are interested in being confirmed, then please speak to Canon Philip, if you are part of the Music Department, or Canon Neal if you are part of the wider Cathedral community.

Community Lunch – Sunday 21st November 2021
Yes, it’s back! We are looking forward to re-starting our community lunches – with the first being held on Sunday 21st November at 12:15 in the Dining Room.  All are welcome from all communities within the cathedral.  To maintain being safe and cautious for this first one, please bring your own food, just for yourself….and we will provide hot drinks and juice.  But, as before……all are welcome and we can have lunch together whilst enjoying each other’s company, in friendship and fellowship!

For further information see Canon Mike or Canon Neal
