Come and sing at Liverpool Cathedral!
On Saturday 23rd October, parish choirs and singers from across the Liverpool area will join us here at Liverpool Cathedral, to sing alongside our choir in a Choral Evensong service
For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, singers from across the diocese will be able to attend the Cathedral for a day of workshops and rehearsals, before participating in a Choral Evensong service, alongside our Cathedral Choir.
The event, in partnership with the educational charity Royal School of Church Music, starts for registration at 9:30 am, with rehearsals for the day starting at 10:00 am. The choirs attending are encouraged to bring their own robes to wear during the 3:00pm Evensong, which is the culmination of the event.
Stephen Mannings, Director of Choral Outreach at Liverpool Cathedral said:
“We are delighted to be hosting the RSCM’s first large-scale singing event since the start of the pandemic. It will be a wonderful occasion in which we hope to bring up to 100 singers together from parishes across the diocese and beyond. The morning and afternoon will be spent learning some fantastic sacred music (from a range of genres) before singing evensong together with the Cathedral Choir at 3pm”
We know the opportunity to join us for the workshops and special service will be a popular one, so we'd recommend booking as soon as possible.
