Our Organ
The Cathedral organ is the largest pipe organ in the UK – an instrument of tremendous power and majesty, but also of serenity and calm. Its sole purpose is to aid worship by creating a reverent atmosphere.
The Schools
Singing Programme
Liverpool Cathedral Schools Singing Programme (SSP) has been working with primary schools since 2012. During this time, we’ve worked with some 8,000 children from over 40 schools, run more than 20 music projects, and given large-scale performances both at the cathedral and across this Diocese.
Music for Early Years
Every December, the Lady Chapel becomes home to our ‘Take it to the Floor’ Classical Music Christmas Concerts series for babies, toddlers, young children and their families. In Partnership with the early-years music specialists Music in Unison, our team of professional musicians create an immersive and interactive festive music encounter for all on our colourful, soft flooring within a safe space. These normally take place on the second Saturday in December and are incredibly popular. Please keep an eye on the website and our social media for information regarding tickets.
