A journey into silence
A practical course on the use of silent prayer through an introduction to Centering Prayer
Join us on Saturday 22 January for a Centering prayer event that will deepen our understanding and practice.
Running from 10:00 - 15:00, this one-day workshop is aimed at those who have grasped the basics of Centering Prayer and are ready to take the next step in their appreciation of the method. The day will allow the opportunity for participants to share their difficulties and questions around the practice in a supportive and positive environment. It will also look at some key ideas in Centering Prayer theory, including:
- Thomas Keating’s psychological underpinning of Centering Prayer
- An exploration of exactly what is going on when we practice Centering Prayer
- The importance of compassion and self-compassion
Ths workshop will be led by Revd Mark Waters, who is an Anglican priest, spiritual director, and trained presenter for contemplative outreach, which is the international network founded by Dr Thomas Keating.
Tickets can be purchased, here.
