Lighting of the Tree and Blessing of the Crib

In this delightful service suitable for the whole family the tree is lit and the crib scene is brought to life then blessed for Christmas.

Join us for this family-friendly service on the second Sunday in Advent to see our Christmas tree lit and our life-sized crib. 

Encounter a festive spirit as our Cathedral Choir sing well-known Christmas carols and hymns.

  • This is a BSL - British Sign Language Interpreted Service
  • Limited, free on-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Sanitise your hands on your way into the Cathedral 
  • To keep our people and other visitors safe, you must wear a face-covering while you are in the Cathedral unless you are exempt.
  • Bell Ringing will take place before the service from 1:30 and 3:00 pm
