Personalised Decorations

These bespoke Christmas decorations
are a great way to remember and celebrate a loved one or a special moment in time, as you can choose a personal inscription for your decoration.  Each decoration has been handmade by local Liverpool artist  Jess Fairclough and will be engraved by a local skilled craftsperson. 

While your inscription is engraved on your decoration by local craftspeople, we will display your message on screen in the Cathedral.  Your decoration will be hung on the Dulverton Bridge Christmas tree from 6 December until 19 December. 

You will be able to be collect your artisan decoration from Liverpool Cathedral from 21 December. 


Purchasing your decoration

In addition to your personalised decoration marking an important person or occasion, purchasing one of these decorations will also help to support Liverpool Cathedral, as both a building and community, that is built by the people, for the people, for the Glory of God.

Please note, if you want your decoration posted, we will charge the appropriate UK postage. We are sorry, we are unable to send decorations internationally.

Terms and Conditions 

Conditions of Sale 

We are Liverpool Cathedral, an Ecclesiastical Corporation established by statute in 1902 ("we" or "us"). These terms and conditions of sale ("Conditions of Sale") (together with the documents referred and linked to in them) tell you ("you", "You" or "Your" being the purchaser of Christmas Decorations) the terms and conditions on which we supply any of the Christmas Decorations to you. Please read these Conditions of Sale carefully before ordering any Decorations from our site. You should understand that by ordering any of our Decorations, you agree to be bound by these Conditions of Sale. These Conditions of Sale are only available in the English language. You should print a copy of these Conditions of Sale for future reference. Please tick the relevant box if you accept these Conditions of Sale. Please understand that if you refuse to accept these Conditions of Sale, you will not be able to order any decorations from our site. 

The Christmas Decorations Scheme 

The Christmas Decorations scheme are the personalised decorations installed inside the Cathedral from Advent up to the 6th of January the following year.  

Your Status 

By placing an order, you promise that: (a) you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts; and (b) you are at least 18 years old. 

How the contract is formed between you and us 

Your order constitutes an offer to us to buy a Christmas Decoration. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm your order by sending you an e-mail that confirms your order ("Order Confirmation"). The contract between us will only be formed when we send you the Order Confirmation. The contract will relate only to those Christmas Decorations we have confirmed in the Order Confirmation. We will not be obliged to supply any other Christmas Decorations which may have been part of your order unless and until such Christmas Decorations have been confirmed in a separate Order Confirmation. Any Order Confirmation given is still subject to these Conditions of Sale. All contracts between us and you are subject to the paragraph below entitled “Cancellation of Scheme and Withdrawal of Christmas Decorations”. 

Statutory Rights of Cancellation 

Please note that because the Christmas Decorations are bespoke you will not have a statutory right of cancellation under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. 

Cancellation of Christmas Decoration Scheme and Withdrawal of Christmas Decorations 

We reserve the right to cancel the Christmas Decoration scheme for any reason including, without limitation, because we are not granted appropriate planning permission to complete or continue with the Christmas Decoration scheme.  

We guarantee that decorations will stay in location up until 6th Advent the year after, with the option to collect from one week before Christmas.  

Availability 

In rare instances, we may not be able to supply you with a Christmas Decoration because of high demand, or force majeur. Where this is the case, we will inform you of this by email and will give you the option of cancelling your order. 

Price and Payment 

All prices are quoted in £ sterling and include VAT. The Cathedral VAT number is GB548487201. Except in the case of manifest error, the prices payable for the Decorations that you order are as set out on the site at the time at which you place your order.  

Payment may be made using Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discovery credit and debit cards. You confirm that the credit/debit card which is being used is yours. Your credit/debit card details will be transmitted via the web to a secure server. All credit/debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. We reserve the right to refuse credit card payments in our reasonable discretion. We may charge your credit or debit card at any time following submission of your order.  

Description of Christmas Decorations 

The Christmas Decorations depicted on our site and in literature are representations of the decorations and the actual decorations may differ. The reproduction of colours and styles are as accurate as photographic and image processing will allow but the actual decorations may differ. We do not accept responsibility for slight variances in colour and style. Christmas Decorations are shown in marketing material is an artist impression and therefore may look different with exact detail as shown being subject to the gaining of planning permission.  

Change of Inscription 

If an order is accepted by us, you will receive an inscription confirmation email. We cannot accept a cancellation, return or make any changes once production of your inscription has started. 

Messages 

Each engraved Christmas Decoration may contain a specified number of characters on each line. Punctuation marks and spaces will count as one character. Messages may not contain offensive or derogatory messages, or any commercial or promotional messages. All messages will be screened and any non-compliant messages will be will be withdrawn and you will be contacted to propose an alternative message. If we receive a complaint from an individual, group or organisation in relation to the content of your Christmas Decoration we reserve the right to remove and destroy the Christmas Decorations. In such circumstances you shall not be entitled to any refund of monies paid to us and you waive your rights to make any claim for damages or any costs against us as a result.  

Installation of Christmas Decorations 

All Christmas Decorations will be produced according to the specification and your order. Your decoration will be put on the tree, and your message displayed on the accompanying screen, however tokens will not be attached until collection. 

For the avoidance of doubt, Christmas Decorations may not be changed once they have been installed, save where we have made an error in the inscription of decoration.  

Liability 

To the fullest extent permissible by law, we exclude and disclaim all warranties, terms, conditions and representations that might otherwise be implied by law in relation to this site and the decorations. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.  

Our maximum liability to you arising by reason of or in connection with the supply of the decorations to you shall be limited to the amount paid by you in respect of the decorations in question. We shall not in any event be liable to you for any losses which are not foreseeable. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Nothing in these conditions of sale shall exclude or limit our liability to you for (i) death or personal injury due to our negligence, (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or (iii) for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.  

Privacy

Force Majeure 

We shall have no liability to you for any delay or failure to deliver the decorations to the extent that such delay or failure to deliver arises from causes beyond our reasonable control , but not limited to, fire, floods, acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supranational authority, war, riot, strike, lock-out and industrial disputes.  

Waiver 

If you breach these Conditions of Sale and we take no action against you, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these Conditions of Sale. No waiver by us shall be effective unless communicated in writing.  

Our right to vary these Conditions of Sale 

We have the right to revise and amend these Conditions of Sale from time to time including, without limitation, to reflect changes in market conditions affecting our business, changes in technology, changes in payment methods, changes in the design or composition of Christmas Decorations, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our system's capabilities. You will be subject to the policies and Conditions of Sale in force at the time that you order Christmas Decorations from us, unless any change to those policies or these terms and conditions is required to be made by law or governmental authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you), or if we notify you of the change to those policies or these terms and conditions before we send you the Order Confirmation (in which case we have the right to assume that you have accepted the change to the Conditions of Sale, unless you notify us to the contrary within seven days of receipt by you of the Christmas Decorations).  

Entire Agreement 

These Conditions of Sale, current Christmas Decoration prices, delivery details and contact details on this site, set out the whole of the agreement between you and us. Our employees or agents are not authorised to make any representations concerning the Christmas Decorations unless confirmed in writing by us. You confirm that you do not rely on, and waive any claims for breach of, any such representations, which are not so confirmed.  

Governing Law and Jurisdiction 

Contracts for the purchase of Christmas Decorations through our site and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be governed by English law. Any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with such contracts or their formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
