You’re invited to share the joy of Christmas 2023 at Liverpool Cathedral.

Looking for fun and family-friendly ways to spend the Christmas Season?

Choose from a wide range of Christmas Events and Services at Liverpool Cathedral, from marking the beginning of advent with our Darkness into Light service to a special start to Christmas Eve, with our Family Christmas Carols.

Things to do this Christmas

Whether you’d like to craft your own Christmas wreath or enjoy a festive musical experience, at either our Soundbath Evensong or our Christmas Sequence, we have plenty of activities for you to enjoy over this season, including The Light Before Christmas: The Manger, an immersive light and sound show exploring the story of the first Christmas and The Snowman Tour.

Christmas Services

If you’re looking for a more reflective or spiritual Christmas, we’d love to see you at any of our upcoming services, from Morning Prayer and Eucharist to our Tree & Crib service and Holly Bough. On Thursday 14 December, we’ll be hosting the Alder Centre Candlelight Service, for those affected by the death of a child.

As Christmas Day approaches, we’ll be looking forward to welcoming you to our Carols for Christmas Eve, our First Eucharist of Christmas and our Eucharist for Christmas day.

Visiting Liverpool Cathedral this Christmas

If you’re coming for a general visit, why not stop by during Coffee and Carols, or visit our Cathedral Shop, for a lovely range of Christmas Cards and gifts? Our Welsford Bistro will also be open throughout December, serving seasonal favourites alongside their existing well-loved menu.

We look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool Cathedral. To find out our opening hours, click here.

Accessibility

We're working hard to make the Cathedral accessible to everyone. You can find more information on our accessibility page (opens in a new window).
